Deframestration

A site specific installation that transcends the boundaries set by the technique in which the work was made. It is a part of “Inside / Outside”, an area of research within which I deal with the inner and outer planes in the context of architecture, but above all, with human beings. The installation was created at the BWA Gallery in Sanok during the individual exhibition “Experiencing Space” in 2017. It is based on two paintings: “Multiperspective landscape 6 black” and “Multiperspective landscape 7 blackblack” from the series “Perspective Landscapes”. It is an attempt to move the planes composed on the canvas beyond the framework of two dimensions and transfer them into three-dimensional, real space so that the viewers can physically immerse themselves in the world created in the paintings. The installation completely filled the black gallery room. The tensioned, white strings crossing the interior create the illusion of floating lines suspended in space, preventing visitors from entering. They were deliberately detained in a place where they could best perceive the entire installation.
Similar to the systems that go beyond the image frame, the space for its interpretation is expanding. In multiplied perspective charts, there are numerous vanishing points on the horizon that connect the lines. Similarly, the present connects what we no longer or not yet have control over. Various possibilities of action, variants of events or decisions that we subconsciously consider at the moment of stopping and contemplating. Reality and fiction interpenetrate on many planes, creating a pure spatial game.
